First thoght on the name of the author, interesting name, 'Westover', western world over, what a name. I knew the book by a youtuber's recommendation. 

The book in a way open the window and show us a different living style of Mormon. Father was a hardcore Mormon survivalist who didn't trust the education system and ofc the goverment. Tara didn't go to school for a day until 17, yet she graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with Ph.D in history. It is just so amazing and inspiring to see how far self taught and the hunger for knowledge can push you. 

Yet one thing to mention here, her 'evil' father (some may say) always taught her and her siblings that they can teach themself anything which in a way planted the seed in their mind that they can do anything as long as they grind to learn.  

As I worked for almost 1 year now, I see that constant learning (daily pondering, reflection) is a must-have ingredient and mind set for success.  Progress everyday is far more important than staying at the top and not moving, because eventually someone on the top will go down hill.

Key take-away: Self-taught, keep hungry for knowledge, refelction everyday.
